Day 2 of the Bike Tour!
We had a great night sleep. Earlier I had posted that I was
happy to go from a tent and no Air conditioning to a pop up camper and A.C.
Well we have a pop up but no A.C. instead we have the monster king fans that
cool things off really fast. So last night we had a great breeze coming off the
lake and slept really well. We planned to get up at 7am and start biking around
9. God had a different idea, it started raining around 6 and was still raining
at 7 so we slept in a little and it stopped raining at 8:15..
Dad started breakfast and we had omelets with bacon and
raisin Thomas English muffins. It was so yummy. Then by the time we were on the
road and started biking it was 11am. The support crew left to go on an
adventure of their own as Tommy and I started biking. We started at the Meat
Market where we stopped on day 1. We went on Rt. 50 for a while. The nice thing about
the roads is they have really big shoulders. There is enough room for another
lane in some places. (the township really thought ahead) We went over 2 bridges
today, but they were not as bad as they looked. We had a great time memorizing bible
verses along the way. After about an hour Tommy started getting hungry so we
ate a trail mix bar. After another 45 minutes we had a package of peanut butter
crackers. Once we reached 20 miles we thought about stopping for lunch and
calling the support crew or we could keep going and do the whole 30 miles… When we got to the 20 mile
mark we ate another trail mix bar and kept going. We had one more package of
crackers left and ate them with 7 miles to go. We called the support crew and
kept going and in 45 minutes they caught up with us at 2:22pm. We went 30 miles
and dropped the tailgate of the truck to put the tomatoes on the sandwiches and
prayed for our lunch! We were so thankful for Lunch! Dad and Jacob had
waited for us to eat lunch so they were pretty hungry as well. We got in
the truck and headed back to camp and ate our sandwiches on the way.
While we were biking the support crew went fishing. Once
they dropped us off they went back to camp and grabbed their fishing poles
headed out. They brought their bikes and went down a trail so they had a mini
mountain of their own. Dad caught a tree first and then Jacob
caught one too. There were lots of people in canoes, but no fish.
When we all got back to camp after lunch we went swimming in
the lake and Jacob, Tommy, and I swam across the entire lake. J We had a lot of fun
and then got ready to go to dinner at Pastor DeNick’s. Mrs. DeNick had a
wonderful meal for us. They are so sweet to open up their home to us and invite
us over for dinner. We had a great chat with them about India and all sorts of
stories were shared.
We came back to camp and are now sitting in front of the
fire enjoying marshmallows before bed. J
We will be presenting tomorrow at Pastor DeNick’s church. Thanks for all of
your prayers. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

You guys are doing great. I love the pictures, even the one of Jacob with his marshmallow Olympic torch. God bless, and safe journeys.
ReplyDeleteI know for us it's day 3 and I'm a little ahead, but I just had to tell you that you were all missed at church today and we prayed for you at the morning and evening services. God be with you as you continue.

I am so enjoying seeing what God is doing in all your lives. Wonderful that Jacob & Dad have this opportunity to play(or should I say fish)and bond at the same time, all while serving the Lord. Am so excited for all of you. Loved Mr. Bob's comment about the marshmallow Olympic torch. Hadn't thought of that, but now I see it. Love you all.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the pictures and hearing the details. Love it! Never thought about Jacob holding up a marshmallow Olympic torch until Mr. Bob mentioned it. God bless you all.
