Tommy and I did 30 miles and we broke the speed limit for the first time! We went 33 MPH in a 25 speed limit area. We didn't even have to pedal so you can only imagine how fast it would have been it we did pedal. We were dropped off at 9:45am and started the climb up to High Point. We knew that we would have a lot of time because Dad had to go back to pack the camper and get Jacob and Susan. (Susan has joined our support crew on this leg of the trip) So we stopped and took some goofy pictures. We stopped at a store and bought a reel because one of them broke on the fishing poles. We were also able to stop for a late lunch at 4pm and waited to be picked up there from the Pizza and Pasta place. We had a great time watching the clouds and relaxing as we waited for 2 hrs for the support crew. Once they got to us we all headed to the campsite. We got there at 8 and set up camp. It was too dark to set up a fire pit and roast marshmallows or do anything like that. So we popped in a movie. It was fun! The showers here don't have slots to pay for them. The water supply is unlimited, but the hot water will run out eventually! :) Then we went to bed.
We stopped a lot more places than we normally do because we knew it would be a while before we would get picked up so we got to hand out a bunch of tracts to the people we saw!
We have done over 100 miles!! |

We are looking forward to an extended weekend. We only have 30 miles left to bike and we are saving it for Monday. The Sunday School class from our church is coming to be with us today (Friday) so we are getting the campsite set up and ready for them to come and roast some Smores around the fire. We are so blessed to have such a supportive church family.
Thanks again for all of your prayers. I'll keep you posted. Hope you are having a great weekend. I know we are!
Fantastic! I am loving this bike trip. Whose mansion is in the photo? Guess it wouldn't be considered your campsite. Glad Susan can be apart of your support crew. And know you will have fun with your church friends. Enjoy those smores for me. Love and prayers.
ReplyDeleteThe mansion was an old colonial house that was turned into a retirement home. It looked pretty impressive so we took a picture! :)
