Tuesday: Day 5

Wow what a day! We woke up this morning and had breakfast and took down the campsite because it was our last day there. Once Dad and Jacob dropped us off in Cookstown they went to home and Tommy and I  biked as many miles as we could becasue we would be really close!

We would like to say a special Thank You to the people at Indian Branch Campground for allowing us to stay there. It was a huge blessing! Thank you so much!

It took us a while to take down the campsite. We were on the road and got dropped off by 11am. Dad and Jacob got to the house in time for lunch! They spent the day cleaning out the camper and airing out the camping things.

There is one thing I'd like to say about NJ... it is so different from one end to the other. We went through a lot of farm country today. We know why NJ is called the garden state. The landscapes are beautiful! We have a contest with cows and dogs.. If you can get a cow to look at you then you get a point.. This is a game that we were told about by other bikers... The only problem with it is that we have not seen any cows at all on our trip. Today we saw a lot of horses. Tommy tried the game out on the horse and got one to look at him and so he has 1 point! :)

Tommy and I went from Cookstown to Plainsboro Township in 4 hrs. We didn't turn on one of the roads we were suppose to and had to semi-backtrack at one point. We passed out a few tracts to the people helping us with directions Praise the Lord. We also stopped to fix Tommy's brakes. There were quite a few hills today, but no mountains yet. We were not able to take any pictures of the hills because we were too busy going down them and then wanted to use the momentum to get back up the other side! We did 3 hills right in a row at one point. The fastest we went down hill was 28 MPH!
We were flying. It was a lot of fun
We got to the 30 mile mark and decided to keep going. We took the Delaware and Raritan Canal Park  Path that we are very familiar with. (This is where Tommy and I would go to bike for training.)We did 40 miles in all today. Since the bike tour started on Friday, we have done a total of 137 miles! We are ahead of schedule by almost a whole day! Woowhooo!!!

We are now home!!  The whole family was excited to see us and we went swimming with the entire family. It was refreshing. We talked and told bike stories with the family. We came back to the house and ate dinner. For dessert Mom baked an apple Pie. :) We had a wonderful time camping, but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed and taking a shower for as long as you like!!!

Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We are so blessed!

  1. Yes, there is no place like home with a family who loves and supports you. We are so blessed to live in America where you all can bike and fish and do all that you are doing in freedom. I hope we are able to keep this freedom. So many around the world do not experience this. Love seeing your mother's apple pie. Little did she know it would be seen all over the ?? world? USA? Any way, she did a great job (& her mother did not teach her how; her step-dad did). Can hardly wait for the next installment. Love you all.
